Queen Mary Lies In State -- This photo shows the scene in Westminster hall this afternoon March 29 as Queen Mary lies in state. On duty at the foot of the Catafalque is an officer of her Majesty's body guard of the honourable corps of Gentlemen-At-Arms. Others on duty (unshown) are of the Queen's Bodyguard of the Yeomen of the Guard. The Hall was opened to the public shortly after this picture was made. The lying-in-state will continue until midnight tomorrow. A Queue three quarters of a mile long waited for the doors to open. The funeral will be at Windsor on March 31. March 29, 1953.
