Princess Royal Presents Two Air Ambulances To R.A.F. Gift Of Girl Guides' Association -- H.R.H. the Princess Royal, accompanied by Air Marshal E.L. Gossage, about to inspect one of the air ambulances. Three months ago a scheme was launched by which it was suggested to guides that they should give up half a day's income or some of their pocket money as a gift to the Nation. ?20,000 was to be their goal, in order to buy two Air Ambulances for the R.A.F., costing ?15,000, and a motor lifeboat for ?5,000. To-day, H.R.H. The Princess Royal, on behalf of the Girl Guides' Association, presented the two air ambulances to the Royal Air Force at an R.A.F. station somewhere in England. July 27, 1940.
