Hunting Princess is Thrown by her Horse - Seen riding her horse Smokey, a ten-year-old brown gelding, with the Pytchley Hunt yesterday is Princess Alexandra, daughter of the Duchess of Kent. During the hunt the Princess was thrown from her horse while crossing a field near Holdenby House, Northants. She landed on soft, muddy ground but remounted her horse and caught up with the hunt, which was then a field ahead. The Pytchley country is considered one of the toughest areas to hunt in England. The Duke of Windosr and the late King George VI have hunted there. January 09, 1955. (Photo by Reuterphoto).
