On the outside wall five medallions with Kui Xing; the God of the Exams; with his attributes on a dragon head between waves and clouds. Around the foot a band with rocks and waves with on the rocks a three-legged frog; which blows out mushrooms ending up in a cloud with a flower branch. At the bottom a scholar in a fenced garden looking at a flower. The inner edge with prunus branches; the outer edge with a wool motif. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Chenghua in a double circle. Old label on the bottom with 'W174'.
