On the outside four narrative scenes: two ladies and a gentleman on a fenced patio pointing somewhere; two ladies on a fenced patio watching a gentleman in a pavilion playing on a qin; a lady in a room and putting her hair in front of a mirror; a lady and a gentleman on a terrace; on the bottom a square cartouche with three boys (crazy people) in a rocky landscape; one of which holds a fruit basket. Marked on the bottom with the six-character mark of emperor Xuande.
