The repeating pattern is formed by a bundle of threads; which has been worked through a mesh ground; a diamond-shaped straw grid. The threads alternately form a heart surrounded by six diamonds and a diamond surrounded by four circles. Along the underside of the strip there is always a trapezoidal pattern between these successive motifs; with a small cut-out in the center. The hearts; diamonds and trapezia are made in linen with openwork edges and the contours of which are formed by the thick threads. In each circle (around the diamonds) a larger oval-shaped mesh has been made between the meshes of the straw trellis.
