Base for an oil lamp Base for a lamp; On the corner at the front of the three-sided base; which rests on three forward-curling legs; is located a siren whose wings spread against the sidewalls of the foot. At the top rises the head of a wild boar; which holds its snout against the head of the siren stretched forward. The latter wears a broad band around the neck with a skull as a jewel and a slit band around her waist; including hanging acanthus leaves. These cover; in part; the front curl located beneath it; and in part the body that splits into two parts; which narrows and merges into both rear curls. On the abdomen on both sides is a winged; high-relief putto leaning forward; drinking from the siren's chest; sitting away from him; also in high relief; on one side a satyr with pan flute and on the other a satyr female with torch; playing on a pan flute. On the reverse side an inlaid oval paste after an antique example: Jupiter sitting on an eagle in front of a standing naked woman; next to whom a Cupid on a column and the inscription: Cupidus. Above the medallion; two facing putti facing each other with a date palm between them. The handle originates above; which consists of a slotted slit band; the upper part of which ends in a ram's head and the lower part ends in two volutes with a shell on the fork.
