The border is decorated with the Ozier pattern. The inside of the bowl is painted with 'deutsche Blumen'; the outside with two representations: one after a print by William Hogarth (A midnight Modern Conversation) and one with a landscape in which a woman serves coffee or tea to a smoking man at a table and a servant who has fallen to the ground with a tray of sweets. Behind the woman a clock on a pedestal. Both scenes are situated in a garden. A gold band with leafwork has been painted along the inside of the edge.
