Eliezer gives Rebecca a ring and holds two more bracelets in his right hand. There is a striking discrepancy between the ornamentation on the sheet in a Louis XV style and that on the frame; which is made in Louis XIV style. Furthermore; the theme chosen for the decoration of the frame; country life; does not fit in with the presentation of the magazine at all. It is therefore possible that an older sheet has been applied to a new frame here. The reverse side of the leaf is unpainted. The usual connection between pastoral and love symbolism is made on the frame. In the middle reserve are a countryman and a herdinnetje on a pile of hay sheaves. In the medallions on either side of this; there is an open basket between a number of hay stoves from which two birds fly away. on the outer legs another putto with a flower basket and two different pastoral trophies.
