Strip of machined lace with black soil and natural-colored motifs; Strip of multicolored machined lace: machined blonde. Black soil and natural-colored motifs. The strip is probably intended or used for a frock. The repeating pattern consists of a curved branch with two openwork flowers with a wreath of crescent-shaped petals. The branch rises with a bend on the underside of the strip and bends back with a large arc where it ends with one of the flowers. The other flower originates halfway from the branch and is tilted upwards. A large cut-away leaf or reserve lies under the branch along the underside of the strip where it forms the shell edge. The motifs are connected to each other above the flowers by a hexagonal machine grid and below the flowers by a diamond-shaped machine grid. Ornamental grounds were used in the motifs; including a mechanical rose soil and a coarse irregular grid. The top of the strip is finished straight. The shell edge along the bottom is finished with picots. One short side is finished with an edge.; anonymous; England (possibly); c. 1910 - c. 1915; silk; l 79 cm x w 19 cm x; 11.5 cm
