Strip of bobbin lace with fan-shaped bow with four-leaf clover; Natural strip of bobbin lace: Mechelen lace. The repeating and continuous pattern consists of a regularly waving pendulum of concatenated circles or wheels. A fan-shaped double arch filled with four-leaf clover runs across each golf valley. Underneath each golf top there is a six-lobed flower along the lower edge between two elongated leaves. The motifs are made in linen with few cutouts and thicker and shiny contour threads. The motifs are connected to each other by a decorative ground; a fine snowflakes ground; along the top of the wavy pattern and with a coarser lattice ground under the fan-shaped arches and the pendulum with wheels. The faintly scalloped bottom is finished with picots. The upper side is finished with a separately cloned strap.; anonymous; Mechelen; c. 1700 - c. 1799; linen (material); snowflake filling; l 225 cm x w 5 cm x; 10.5 cm
