Aquamanile in the Form of a Horse Aquamanile in the Form of a Horse; The object cast in cire perdue technique and then adorned with a single detail; is shaped like a horse. The head is enlivened by large stylized eyes and small raised ears. The mouth has an opening. The transition from front legs to body is indicated by grooves. The animal has a short tail. On the back a high hollow protrusion; which is connected by a round handle to the rear end of the horse; and on which possibly a part was mounted. A rectangular hole has been cut out in the belly of the animal in line with the protrusion on the back to remove the casting core; horse; anonymous; c. 1200 - c. 1300; copper alloy; founding; h 12.4 cm x l 13.5 cm x t 4.7 cm
