The trunk; which is set with four rows of buds; is blown as a whole with the high; curved chalice. A smooth wire indicates the transition from the stem to the chalice. The portrait of Prince Maurice (1567-1625) is engraved in an oval medallion on the chalice; surrounded by the inscription 'MAURI. BY. D. GRA. GEBO. PRINCE. V. ORA. GRAVE. V. NA '. Two hands clasped under the portrait. On the reverse side a view of Dordrecht; held up by two angels. A banderolle with the inscription 'DORDRECHT' is engraved above the cityscape.
