Candy box; The elongated octagonal box has two ears with hinged handles. The base is made up of a scalloped; curved; rejuvenating section; resting on a low base; and a smooth; constricted section that forms the connection to the vessel; which is again scalloped. The wall of the vessel is first convex and then concave. The convex part has an engraved decoration of flower bells and volutes on scalloped; roughened fields. The hollow part has a sawn-out decoration of symmetrical patterns; built up from volutes; fan shapes and other elements. Both the engraved and the sawn-out decorations are always the same on both long sides; on both short sides and on the four sides on the corners. The outer edge has an imposed; cast ornamentation of volutes; interrupted in the middle of each of the four sides by an inwardly curving leaf motif. The ears and the hanging handles; all cast; are made up of volutes with curling lips; ornament derived from plant forms; Gerrit Boverhof (attributed to); Amsterdam; 1746; silver (metal); h 5.9 cm x w 10.9 cm x d 8.8 cm
