NETSUKE OF SEIOBO WITH PEACH BASKET.

Japan. 18th c. Dark wood with black rubbed lacquer. The super-slender figure of an elegant Chinese lady is wrapped in long-sleeved robes; a stole is draped around her shoulders. Her robe is suitably decorated with clouds and her hair is pinned up in a peach knot. In front of her; she holds a basket with a twig of two peaches promising eternal life. Height 12.3cm.
