Pair of Candlesticks from the ownership of Wilhelm and Augusta of Prussia.
Berlin. 1829-42. Johann George Hossauer.

Silver. The square stepped foot tapering towards the center. The corners with shell ornaments. The baluster shaft of slightly conical form with pronounced pommel and vase shaped nozzle. Engraved on the shaft; the Prussian eagle with chain of the Black Eagle order beneath the Prussian crown. On the bottom owner's monogram WA [lig.] below a crown for Prince Wilhelm of Prussia and Princess Augusta. Height 26;5cm. ca. 1860. Condition A/B.
Candleholder and drip-pans marked: standard silver 15 L鰐h:; Berlin inspection mark 1819-54 (Scheffler Berlin Nr.14); secondary assayer's mark Andreack (1819-1842; ebd. Nr.18). maker's mark Hossauer Berlin (Johann George Hossauer; since 1818; ebd. Nr.38); beehive mark; for the pound mark 1;9 and 1;85.
