Box in the Shape of a Female Head.
Meissen or Chelsea. Circa 1760.
Porcelain; enriched in colours and in gilt. Metal mounting with engraved decor. The body is in the shape of a young woman's head. Around the white hood is a green band vine pattern. Tight-fitting ruffled collar. The hinged porcelain lid has blue flowers on the exterior. The interior has a group of children in a park landscape. In original leather case with embossed tendril pattern and light pink silk lining. Height 6cm. Condition A/B.
