GOBLET WITH ARCHAIC TAOTIE MASKS AND CHILONG DRAGON. RHINOCEROS HORN.
China. Qing period. 17th/ 18th century.

Rhinoceros horn; matt shimmering. Cup with steep; faceted sides on a high base; the lip on top with a very finely engraved leiwen pattern. On the side four Taotie masks in flat relief; the handle in the shape of a chilong dragon; biting into the rim. Height 6;8 cm; 10 cm x 7 cm. Condition B. One leg of the dragon is broken off.
