NETSUKE: HARE; IVORY.
Mid 19th Century.
Sitting hare; the long ears laid back and licking its right foreleg. Delicately carved and polished; the eyes inlaid of light horn. Signed: Ranichi; according to MCI active in Kyoto ca. 1835-65; student of Rantei. W. 3;5 cm. Condition B. Peak of the right hind leg is restored. Age cracks.
