Four compartments and lid with offset cord channel. Ground: thick kinji. In gold hiramakie with some okibirame flowering plum tree in a landscape with thatched house and young bamboo stems and a flowering plum tree behind that; continuing verso. On the inside thick nashiji. Agate Ojime. Denoted: Shiomi Masanari and red seal in gourd shape.
Cp. Wrangham; p.244; renowned varnish master from Kyoto; late Edo period. Ojime of carnelian. H. 8 cm. Condition B. Inscribed on the inside on one edge; dents on the top.
