PAIR OF TEABURI HAND WARMERS.
Japan. Meiji period.
Bronze in the shape of a full-boddied vase. Polished patina; partly open work with fine engravings in form of stylised dragons on a thick meander ground. On lid an d body a pair of birds on fine karakusa. Chrysanthemum blossom shaped handle pairs holding a ring on each vase. The foot decorated with lanceleaf leaves and heads in flat relief. Height 31cm; + 30cm. At the bottom signed with seal: Hasegawa Settsu (Osaka) Daigyo (titel) Toyokuni saku. Condition A.Art trade; Van Ham.
