PAIR OF SHIBAYAMA IVORY VASES.
Japan. Meiji period. Ca. 1880.
Ivory segments with inlays in relief of mother-of-pearl; coral; horn and coloured semi-precious stones. On top set with delicate silver. On wooden base plate; silver as well. Height 31 cm. Signed on small plate: Masayuki or Masashi. Condition A. Enclosed: CITES certificate.
Please note that objects made of ivory; rhinoceros horn and turtle shell; due to Cites regulations can only be sold within the European Community. At present the export in third countries is prohibited.
