LARGE AND HEAVY GOBLET WITH A LANDSCAPE IN HIGH RELIEF. RHINOCEROS HORN.
China. Early Qing period. 17th/ 18th century.

Rhinoceros horn; partly translucent; with matt surface and yellowish parts. The steep side; designed as sheer rock walls are overgrown with bamboo; cherries and asters. Large blooming peony trees make up the handle; the underside is carved with a stream between rocks. Height 8;6 cm; 16 cm x 10;5 cm. Condition B.
