VAJRADHARA. BRONZE.
Tibet. 18th/19th century.

Bronze with gilding and residue of ritual colors. Figure of Adibuddha Vajradhara in the style of the 16th century in lotus seat (padmasana) sitting on a double lotus throne. The hands crossed in front of the chest are in vajrahumkara mudra as a unification of wisdom and sympathy. His attributed ritual bell (ghanta) and vajra (dorje) are on the two lateral lotus stems on the shoulders. The base plate is closed. Height 17cm. Condition B.
