CERAMONIAL SCARF GERINGSING IN DOUBLE IKAT.
Bali; Tengganan. First half of 20th century.
Hand spun cotton; patterned in double ikat and hand woven. This double ikat (geringsing) is typical for Tengganan in Bali. The patola pattern is known as 'si ganding'; so the whole scarf would be named 'cawat ding ding si ganding'. 22 x 308cm. Condition B.
