QUAIL AS A CENSER; BRONZE.
Japan. Edo period. 18th century. Tsumura Kamejo (woman; unknown in Nagasaki - 1772).
Bronze with a dark patina and residue of gilding. Turning back the head; the open beak for the smoke; with visible tongue. Wings detachable; five raised feathers with small openings beneath. Height 13.8cm. Condition B. Outer claw on the right foot glued.
