Heavy bronze with reddish lacquer patina. After a Chinese model. On the high lid a sitting kirin with raised hoof. Around the lid and the jar with a relief border with t魌etsu masks on an inazuma ground. The legs coming out of t魌etsu grimaces. In the bottom on the inside a cast shippo motif.
