SMALL VASE OR FURIDASHI VESSEL.
Japan. 19th century. Kinkozan Studio.
Satsuma stoneware; very delicately painted in overglaze colours and gold. The noozle of the small ovoid vessel is designed like a little cloth bag. It cannot be certainly determined if this is a vase or a furidashi with which a certain kind of sweets is served during the tea ceremony. The vessel is decorated with many shikishi poem squares; with genre scenes and still lives. Height 8.5cm. Stamped and in red with gold on the base: Kinkozan. Condition A/B.Art trade; Van Ham.
