OKIMONO. PAIR IN THE STYLE OF NETSUKE; RAT ON A FAN. IVORY. SIGN.: MASATAMI.
Meiji period. Ca. 1900.
Each one well nourished sitting rat; raising its head while lying on an open fan. The fan's upper side is decorated with a flowering plum twig in a delicate engraving. Underneath each a delicately engraved pine twig; coming out of a strong trunk in front of a red coloured sun. Two small himotoshi also allow the use as a Netsuke. Width 5;5cm resp. 5;7cm; height 1;5cm resp. 2;5cm. Condition A.
