Qing Dynasty; after 1790.

Spinach jade; densly marbled. The front decorated with a finely engraved pair of five clawed dragons; one ascending the other descending between clouds with a flaming pearl in the centre. The engravings are accentuated with gold; as well as the back inscribed in regular script (kaishu); which states that it is an addendum for the comments about the 'Four acquired (virtues)'; which was written by Emperor Quianlong in August 1790. 19.5 x 11.5cm. Condition A/B.

The scroll form the hand of the Qianlong emporer is today in the province museum of Liaoning in Shenyang.
