RUYI-FORMED TIN WITH LID. RED LACQUER CARVING.
China. Qing dynasty; Kangxi period (1661-1722). Early 18th c.
Red lacquer carving; inside and ground covered with shiny black lacquer. Curved with flat upper side on short linear foot rim completely covered with leiwen-border; same with the edges of the upper and lower side. On the lid in ruyi-formed frame in very delicate bas relief a landscape alongside a rocky beach with high pines and an old gentleman with his servant on their way to a picnic. Height 6;5cm; Width 16;3cm; Depth 12cm. Condition A. Smaller traces of use common for the period and smaller restorations.
