TORSO OF A FOUR-ARMED MALE DEITY. STONE.
Khmer. Angkor period; Kulen style (about 825-75). 9th c.

Sandstone; finely carved; with patina skin. The powerful male torso is wearing a sampot elegantly around the hips; which is folded in ornamental folds in the front; some of them bent back into the belt.

The stretch of Kulen style was just a short epoch of the Angkor period. This is the reason; why sculptures in Kulen style are very rare. Height 30cm. Condition A/B. Supplement: Mounted on a base.
