DAOIST HANGING SCROLL
China. Qing dynasty. 18th/19th c.

Colours on fabric. Two of the three Pure Ones (Sanqing). At the bottom Yuanshi Tianzun clad in a red dragon robe; seated on a throne in front of a folding screen; flanked by two presumably manchurian servants holding a cup with treasures and a cup with the small figure of a horse. At the top Lingbao Tianzun with ruyi-sceptre in official clothing in front of a folding screen with dragon. Flanked by two young servants; one of them holding a ruler and the other a vessel in form of a cloud. Picture size 57 x 47cm; 94 x 60cm in total. Condition B. Enclosure: Mounted in the manner of a Thangka.
