LARGE MEDICINE BUDDHA IN TAI YAI-STYLE. BRONZE.
Burma/Myanmar. Ava Kingdom (1364-1555). 16th c.
Bronze with lacquer gilding. The medicine Buddha sitting in padm鈙ana on a high double lotus throne. In his right he is holding a myroblan-fruit; in his left the medicine can. At the base to the right and left side small separate figures of worshipers sitting on lotus-flowers. Weight 13kg; height 63;5cm; width (base) 31cm. Condition A/B.
