Japan. Meiji-period; about 1900.
Sentoku (brass) with different metal decorations in low relief; partially gilded and with Cloisonn? Egg-shaped; tapering downwards; on a wide foot with separate foot base. Both handles in the shape of stylized animal heads with oval rings with nanako ground; the same with the neck and foot. On the body in the front a medallion with asters and suzuki-grass; in the back a grape-medallion; at the foot aoi-leafs. On the ground a seal of a western collection. Height 26cm. Condition B. Supplement: On a wooden base.
