Maker's mark ET. Finest handicraft. A very rare piece made before the beginning of the war. Enclosed: Correspondance of Dr. R黡iger Joppien from 1983/88.

Elisabeth Treskow was born on August 20; 1898 in Bochum. After attending the Hagen Silversmith's and the Essen School of Applied Arts she completed a gold- and silversmith's apprenticeship in Schw鋌isch-Gm黱d (1916-1917) and in Munich (1918-1918). In 1918 she took her apprenticeship certification exam with the Munich goldsmith Karl Rothm黮ler (1860-1930). In 1924; Treskow passed her examination for the master's certificate in front of the D黶seldorf Chamber of Commerce; in 1927 she changed workshops into the atelier of Margarethenh鰄e. When the impacts of the Great Depression showed in 1929/1930 and she did not get any more orders; Elisabeth Treskow dedicated herself to the studies of metallurgy of the the Etruscans. By doing that she discovered the technique of granulation; which the Etruscans carried out masterly.Art trade; Van Ham.
