Memorial and Name Book. On October 13, 1939, the district administrator of M?nsingen ordered the evacuation of Grafeneck Castle. The next day, October 14, 1939, it was officially confiscated. From October 1939 to January 1940, the former Samaritan hospital Grafeneck was then converted into a killing facility. From January 18 to December 13, 1940, 10654 people were murdered at Grafeneck. In December 1940, under pressure from the church and the population, the killing center was closed.
