Porcelain famille rose. Pear-shaped vase on foot imitating a wooden base. On the shoulder two deer head handles; painted in iron red and black. Lip in gold. In fine painting two scenes from the twenty-four examples of filial piety: Shun is appointed Emperor in the company of his white elephant. The Han emporer Wendi cares personally about his sick mother and tries her medicine first on himself. Height 12.3cm. Four-character mark 'Shen De Tang zhi' in red. Condition A.Art trade; Van Ham.
