China. Ming dynasty or later. 16th-18th c.
Wood with tixi-lacquer with more than ten black and red lacquer coats. The small table with offset tabletop with lines of ruyi-motifs; on the curved apron with symmetrically applied xiangcao-helixes. The legs strongly curved. The motifs deeply carved into the red-black lacquer coats; showing the soft hand of a master carver. Height 15.5cm; 63 x 32cm. Condition C. One leg partly missing; restored.
