MUSEUM STANDING BUDDHA HPAYA.
Myanmar/Burma. 19th/20th c. Mandalay style.

Wood carved; hands set in separately. Thayo lacquer in flat relief; gilded; with small; colored glass stones and mirrors (hman zi shwei cha). With both hands spreading the splendidly decorated coat standing on a small pedestal. The white face and hands refer to similar figures of marble or alabaster. The eyes inlaid in glass give the face a lively expression. Height 153cm. Condition A/B. One foot broken.
