NETSUKE: SENNIN CHOKWAR?
Japan. Edo Period. 18th c.
Ivory; finely carved; engraved and dark accentuated. The cheerful laughing Sennin with fly-whisk in the right hand and gourd in the raised left hand; is standing in belted robe on a 12 mm wide surface; carved from a triangular segment of the tooth. H.10;3cm. Condition A.
