Japan. Edo/Meiji Period. 2nd half of the 19th century.
Ivory; very finely carved and engraved; partly darkly stained. Two little monkeys are riding on a deer through a river course. One is pulling on a cord; that is fixed on the left horn of the deer. H.4;1cm. Sign.: Ikkosai; cf. MCI p. 226. Codition A.
