Ivory; finely carved and engraved. The father; sitting broad-legged; is holding his owl; beating widly with its wings. He is watching his little son - holding a sparrow at its wing. B.4;7cm. Sign.: Seigyoku; cf. MCI; who considers him an early Meiji-artist; apparently with a passion for animal groups. Condition A.
