NETSUKE: LARGE ROOSTER.
Japan. Edo period. 19th century.

Chestnut wood; very delicately carved and engraved. Large rooster; turning its head; with high curved tail feathers standing on roof tiles. The ends of the tiles show a Tomoe motif and the inscription: Toji. This means the temple of the same name in Ky魌o. H.4.7cm. Condition A.
