NETSUKE: ROOSTER ON DRUM.

Boxwood; very delicately carved in detail. Rooster; its head turned sitting on a drum; tail feathers impressively curved and very delicately engraved; eyes inlaid with light horn with dark pupils; the buttons on the drum inlaid with black horn. H.4.8cm; w.3.8cm. Signed: Tametaka; unusually slender dense signature; very closed to the copper cartouche added later around the larger hole. Condition A/B.
