IMPERIAL DECRET.
China. Qing Dynasty; Tongzi period. Cyclically dated: Tongzi shi san nian = 1874.
Silk with woven motifs; lined on paper. Longer inscriptions with ink and metal color; with imperial seal. The decret of an elevation in rank was written from left in Chinese and from right in Manchurian script. On both sides the characters 'fengtian Gaoming' - 'On heavenly command'; flanked by a pair of dragons. In the center two large imperial seals with the name of the beneficiary: Lin Zhengfang and the dating. 32.5 x 322cm. Condition B/C.
