EXTRAORDINARY FIGURE OF A DURGA.
Nepal. Presumably 15th/16th c.
Dark bronze; solid cast and finely engraved. The devi with originally eight arms. She wears a wide garment; at the front draped in big folds; around her hips. Her body is adorned with jewelry and a large skull necklace.
Remarkable are the fine facial features and well engraved details of the figure. Height 26cm. Condition B. Arms and legs of the figure missing. Supplement: New wooden stand.
