In the Meiji period the masks of the collections in the imperial treasure house Sh魋鬷n and from temples like H魊y?ji were exhibited the first time to a wider audience. In this period faithful copies where produced; sometimes in miniature format; like these. Supplement: Original tomobako box from ceder wood.
