77 realized by Domenico Ghirlandaio (1448 - 1494); The frescoe of Ghirlandaio can be found in the second niche to the right of the entrance of Ognissanti in the Cappella Vespucci (Vespucci Chapel). It is the funeral chapel of the patron family of Ognissanti church; a rich banker family and strong allies of the Medici; built 1474 to 1479. Ghirlandaio realized two frescoes here; which were rediscovered; in 1878. The lower frescoe is the "Compianto"; also called "Deposizione" and "Piet?; the upper even more famous one is the frescoe "Madonna della Misericordia" ("Virgin of Mercy").
