Jawlensky; Alexej
1867 Twer/ Moscow - 1941 Wiesbaden

Femina. 1922. White chalk on lithograph on Japan. 28 x 23cm (50 x 39cm). Signed and dated. Framed.

Minimally light-stained under the mat window. Verso light staining. Traces of old mounting on the upper right corner.

On the back of the frame inscribed by Andreas Jawlensky: A.Jawlensky; "Femina"(underlined) 1922. From the portfolio of the Nassauischer Kunstverein zu Wiesbaden.
Original lithograph. Here also dedication.

This lithograph is presumably unique because no edition is registered. It will be included in the supplement of the oeuvre register of the prints by Detlev Rosenbach under no. 31a; because it is very similar to the cat. rais. no. 31 "Kopf (hingebend II)" from 1922 and was probably made at the same time. We would like to thank Mr Detlev Rosenbach for the kind scientific support.
